New Features in Salesforce

·         New Features:
-          New Data Type: External Lookup Relationship - Creates a relationship that links this object to an external object whose data is stored in an external data source.
-          Added new Checkbox while creating new Object - Allow in Chatter Groups
-          Analytic Snapshot- Replaced by Reporting Snapshot.


·         Orders:
-          Users, Accounts and Contacts.
-          System validation rules, Before trigger rules, Custom validation rules, After trigger rules, Assignment rules, Workflow rules.
-          Consistent – VLOOKUP
-          Specific pattern - REGEX

·         Data Types:

·         Profile :
-          Section of Std. profile that cannot be edited: Administrative Permissions, General User Permissions, Std n Custom Obj(Objects) Permission.
-          Standard Profiles: System Administrator, Standard User, Read Only, Solution Manager, Marketing User, Contract Manager.
-          Controls –


Role Hierarchy:
-       Roles can control the level of visibility that users have into your organization’s data.
-       Users at any given role level can view, edit, and report on all data owned by or shared with users below them in the role hierarchy, unless your organization’s sharing model for an object specifies otherwise.
-       Roles also determine the access users get to cases, contacts, and opportunities regardless of who owns those records.
               OWD:
-       Grant access using role hierarchies cannot be turned off for Std Obj.
-       Custom obj do not have Full Access (Only Std obj have).
-       For Std. Obj: Private, Public Read Only, Public Read/Write, Public Read/Write/Transfer, Public Full Access,  Controlled by Parent, Hide Details, Show Details, Hide Details and Add Events,  Show Details and Add Events, Use, No Access, View Only.
-       For Custom Obj: Private, Public Read Only, Public Read/Write.

·         System Log/System Overview: The system overview page shows usage data and limits for your organization, and displays messages when you reach 95% of your limit (75% of portal roles).
·         Audit Trial:  The setup audit trail history helps you track the recent setup changes that you and other administrators have made to your organization. This can be especially useful in organizations with multiple administrators.
·         Import Wizard: Std Objects – Accounts & Contacts, Leads, Solutions, Custom Objects.

Size Limits:
-       Visualforce Page: 15MB.
-       Each Debug Log: 2MB, Each Org retain Debug Log: 50MB.
-       Debug Logs for Org for User: 20
-       Field Tracking: 20 Fields.
-       Cross Object Formula: Upto 10 levels.
-       Deleted Objects: Stores for 15 days after deletion.
-       Deleted Custom Fields: Stores for 15/45 days after deletion.
-       Lookup relations: 25
-       Setup Audit Trail: - Shows recent 20 Setup changes.
                                   History for 180 days.
-       Import Wizard: Upto 50,000 records.

1.      Standard Report Type: Created when obj and its relationships are created.
2.      Custom Report Type: Created by admins or users.

-       Has 20 components.
-       Types:
1.      Chart: Used for comparisons
2.      Table: Showing top 5 and bottom 5 lists.
3.      Gauge: Show progress towards goal.
4.      Visualforce page: Used to pull data from other resources.
5.      Metric: Shows a single number.
-       Types of Chart:

3.      Pie: Single value against total
4.      Donut: Single value against total and also shows total value

Multiple Currency: Your organization can set up the ability to use multiple currencies in opportunities, forecasts, quotes, reports, and other data. Using this capability, each international division can track, forecast, and report on opportunities in local currencies, while providing company-wide reporting and forecasting in a single common currency.

·         Workflow Queue: When a workflow rule that has time-dependent actions is triggered, use the workflow queue to view pending actions and cancel them if necessary. Setup>> Monitor>> Time Based Workflow.
-       Workflow rule name, Object, Scheduled Date, Created Date, Created By, record name, User ID.

·         Return Data types for Formula Field: Checkbox, Currency, Text, Percent, Number, Date, Date/Time.
